Scope of Practice
ARTHROSCOPY
Arthroscopy is a surgical procedure using narrow instruments placed through
small holes made in joints to evaluate the bony structures within the joint
as well as the soft tissues and ligamentous structures surrounding the joint.
This is visualized on a screen through the use of a very small camera placed
in the joint. Some problems with the bones and ligamentous structures about
the joint may be repaired through the small incisions allowing for improvements
in healing and shortened recovery time with smaller surgical incisions.
